Apple iPad™ Australia 2011

All about the Apple iPad Tablet.

Specs Of The Iped / Apad (The Ipad Clone From China)

I've been getting a lot of correspondence asking exactly what features the Chinese iPed contains and what's underneath the hood.(This tablet is also sometimes called the aPad.  These terms seem to be interchangable in many circles.) So, in the following article, I'm going to go over the specifications of this knock off.

However, I have to tell you that this article will focus specifically on the iPed with the rockchip processor. Why? Because I think that this model is probably the one that most people want. It's faster. It works with 3G, and it's the version which seems to have the highest customer satisfaction.

Screen Size And Resolution: I've seen these models have an 8 inch screen, but most of them are 7 inches and this seems to be the most popular. It's an LCD display with a resolution of 800 X 480.The dimensions of this model are 190.5 X 118.5 X 14.7.

Operating System: Android: This is probably the biggest distinction between the original iPad and the knock off iPed.Apple's models obviously use Apple's operating system while the replica uses the open market android operating system. This means that when you want to download games and applications, you will be using android market which is pre installed on the tablet.

Chip / Processor: RockChip: People sometimes ask me why I'm so hung up on rockchip.I just think that it creates a faster more positive user experience with less bugs and much better video and you aren't paying a high premium for it.The rockchip models still come in at around $150 so they are still very competitive and worth the extra costs in my opinion. The difference in price is all due to the dual core 533 MHz chip. What does this mean exactly? It means a few different things but what is likely most noticeable is the very smooth and high definition video performance and the faster download speeds. It doesn't lag or freeze the way that some of the other tablets can.It also allows you to navigate and use the tablet at much faster speeds.

Digital Camera / Video: This is one place where the clone actually beats the original iPad.This models has both camera and video.Granted, it's 1.3 mega pixels, but it certainly gets the job done and at least you have that option. The photos taken on it are actually pretty good.

Networking: Most all of the aPad's have wifi. But, this model can run on 3G networks, which many people find to be important.

Memory: Internally, this tablet has 128 MB of RAM and 2GB ROM.However, it supports a micro SD card of up to 16GB of additional memory.

Media: This tablet plays music and video (MP3 / MP4.) It also allows for you to read ebooks (and the battery can support a good five hours of reading and about 4 hours of video.) it can also run You Tube.Of course, you can browse the web and check email also.It of course runs Facebook, Skype, MSN, Google and all of the other expected goodies.(It also has the shake and tilt accelerometer which is nice for an ebook reader.)

Price: How much you spend on one of these iPeds (sometimes called aPad also) largely depends upon the operating system, the chip, and the memory.I've seen bare bones models for as low as $50.But, if you're going for the rock chip, right now you'd start at around $150.This may change as the product has been available for a little longer.

If you want to see how good the iPed really is, you can read a review, and see video, close up photos, full specifications, and real time pricing at the iPed Review Website located at http://tabletclonereview.com/
