Apple iPad™ Australia 2011

So you may have heard that there is this new little thing that has hit the market by Apple called the iPad.Well here is my quick review of this new must have item.

To put it simply its essentially just a bigger version of the iPod touch.It is available in two versions.A WiFi and a 3G version, and both come with the Apple 1Ghz A4 chip.Now just like the iPod touch, you are able to a lot of things with it like viewing your photos, composing and reading your e-mails, web browsing and you can even use it as a GPS system too.

The screen is 9.7 inches with a resolution of 1024 x 760 which is great for all you YouTube and video fans out there.In addition all of the applications that are available on Apple's app store will work on the iPad although there will be applications that are specifically designed for the iPad.

One of my favourite features on the iPad is the iBooks store which allows you to go a virtual book shelf to help you find the books you like and download them directly to your iPad for reading.This is obviously going to be in direct competition with Amazon's Kindle.

My only disappointment with the iPad is that it has no camera built in.However, if you think about it most of us have mobile phones with cameras built in so if you wanted, you could take a photo using your phone and send if via WiFi or Bluetooth to the iPad for storage and viewing.

So how much is it? Well the prices at the moment range from $499 - $849 depending on which model you go for and with what storage capacity.All in all I think the iPad is a great piece of kit and if you've been thinking about getting one, I can't recommend it highly enough.
